A transformational experience this weekend: Kundalini Dance

This Saturday I practiced for the very first time Kundalini Dance and I got fascinated. We were a group about 10 women together with the instructor.

We introduced ourselves and prayed before starting. The instructor guided us. The workshop consisted basically of letting our body move and dance while focusing our mind in the points of meditation given by the instructor.

The theme was “personal empowerment” and the sensuous music enlightened us in the transformational path, which covered these areas:

1.- Follow your own values;

2.- Take on responsibility in your life;

3.- Don´t compare to other people;

4.- Set Limits;

5.- Conviction (in goals, actions);

6.- Take Action: pursue your dreams;

7.- Show your self, who you are;

8.- Reward yourself, be kind to yourself (envision a crown of light over your head);

We were dancing through these 8 stages of personal empowerment and all women felt highly connected to each other and shared the love. We finished praying again. Each of us picked a card of guidance from Doreen Virtue angel tarot cards. Mine was White Tara!

My cards for this week

As every Sunday, I started my day with Meditation: reflection about the week gone and focus on the week starting. I did my cards and got Magnanimity (Angel deck) and the King of Cups (Tarot deck). The inspiration and interpretation of these two cards will help me coming days.

I feel the King of Cups represents one of my dearest friends, whom I have not seen in almost half a year. I wish him true happiness in the life he desires to live. I have understood and supported him in silent! Some universe he showed me, not exactly geographical but made of precious moments, has been an extraordinary gift.

Magnanimity (derived from the Latin roots magna great, and animus, mind, literally means greatly generous) is the virtue of being great of mind and heart. It encompasses, usually, a refusal to be petty, a willingness to face danger, and actions for noble purposes. Its antithesis is pusillanimity. Magnanimity is a latinization of the Greek word megalopsuchia which means greatness of soul and was identified by Aristotle as “the crowning virtue”.

Noah Webster of the American Language defines Magnanimity as such:

MAGNANIMITY, n. [L. magnanimitas; magnus, great, and animus, mind.] Greatness of mind; that elevation or dignity of soul, which encounters danger and trouble with tranquility and firmness, which raises the possessor above revenge, and makes him delight in acts of benevolence, which makes him disdain injustice and meanness, and prompts him to sacrifice personal ease, interest and safety for the accomplishment of useful and noble objects.

The King of Cups, like all the court cards in the suit of Cups, represents emotion, creativity, and the unconscious. The King of Cups is a master of his own feelings and represents the balance between the emotions and the intellect. He is a master of compassion and kindness and his card often indicates strong bonds in a relationship based on temperance and understanding.

Sometimes, the King of Cups can represent an older male who may appear in your life. This card represents a man of business, law or divinity, who is kind, considerate and willing to take responsibility for his actions. He is paternalistic but in a sensitive, generous manner, and he enjoys the quiet power associated with providing loving energy to others. He is able to listen mindfully to others and he responds calmly in a crisis. He uses diplomacy rather than force, and reached out to help, not to stifle or have it only his way! The King of Cups is highly diplomatic and politically correct. He has a real talent at being able to balance the needs of many people and keeps everyone working together harmoniously and productively. He knows how to show care and sensitivity as he leads others towards a common goal. He responds carefully to others’ emotional needs and can diffuse a tense situation by reading and responding to the different people involved.

Similarly, the King of Cups shows you generosity, graciousness, love, calmness, caring and will give you his healing ways.
