Contemporary Expressionism: Brian Farrell
Brian Farrell paintings are deep, powerful. His work speaks and communicates to the spectator. Some moments is even a sort of cry, as if calling us to react. His style is very genuine. It can recall cubism or expressionism but it is purely authentic and personal.
Brian Farrell expresses the miseries of the XXIst century society. His expressionist style is distinct and unique: the tortured vision of his inner worlds that transcends him and shakes society. Certainly, at some point those images don´t mirror the fears or anxieties of one individual, but of many people, entire sectors of society -drugs, alcohol, consumerism-. And the persons are not persons anymore, they are grotesque, zombies, alienated… And that´s what authors like Seligman or Bauman are nowadays explaining scientifically.
